The Umbria Region has announced its intention to facilitate the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles by exempting future car owners from paying vehicle tax region. Vehicles registered in the period April 11 to July 31, 2013, fueled by “LPG” – natural gas – petrol/LPG or petrol methane, (and of course hydrogen-fueled vehicles or hybrid electric cars) belonging to the international categories M1 and N1, of a power not exceeding 85 kW  may benefit from the exemption.

“The measure – said the regional councilor for the Environment, Silvano Rometti – is one of the Regional Council proposals designed to maintain a good level of air quality in Umbria and, consequently, reduce the pollutants concentration levels. This is the goal of the new Regional Plan for air quality, for which has already started the consultation phase”.
