Project Updates

This newsletter is the fruit of the collaboration between H2IT and l’European Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Business Observatory (EHFBO), an international network launched by SPACE Research Center of Bocconi University with the objective of following the evolutions within the industry of hydrogen and fuel cells and analyze these new technologies under an economic and managerial perspective. The Observatory collaborates with the Italian Association for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (H2IT), for which it carries out a research activity and monitoring of markets and public policies. In particular:

1. Mapping of the enterprises which operate within the hydrogen and fuel cells sectors: economic data, technological focus, principal agreements;

2. Mapping of the main pilot projects realized at national and international level;

3. Mapping of public policies pertaining to the dissemination of hydrogen and fuel cells at national and international level;

4. Mapping of the financing instruments for hydrogen and fuel cells technologies adopted nationally and at European level.

In this first newsletter, H2IT decided to give an overview of the principal development projects ongoing in Italy and the rest of the world within the hydrogen and fuel cells sector. The projects considered are those intended for public, community and local funding. In particular, this year two initiatives are announced which have joint resources over a key sector for ‘clean technologies’ like that of hydrogen: ‘Industria 2015’ and the first call for proposal under the JTI-FCD.

The September issue of the newsletter is the first from a series of quarterly issues which offer updates on topics of high interest for the hydrogen sector. The current project update will be followed up by a newsletter on policies (beginning of December). At the end of the same month, a special newsletter on the evolutions within the hydrogen market is to be published.
