Regione Veneto: public tender for research and development of hydrogen technologies
On April 26, 2011 the Veneto Region has published a public call for access to grants for the research and experimental development on hydrogen technology.
The notice was published under the directions (set out in the addendum to the program agreement between the Veneto Region and the Ministry of Environment for the realization of a hydrogen district at PortoMarghera) which states that support measures should promote lines of action aimed at the strengthening of a technology supply chain capable of addressing the environmental sustainability of economic growth and competitiveness.
In particular, activities funded must include:
- testing of technologies for hydrogen production, including from renewable sources, its storage, its distribution and use as an energy vector;
- the development of combustors for gas turbines hydrogen-powered and with low emissions of nitrogen oxides;
- testing of new processes of in situ remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater;
- study activities on new materials and sector-specific regulations.
The recipients of contributions, for a total of € 5.816.274, are large, small and medium-sized enterprises on an individual basis or in combination (RTI / ATS). The expiry date of the announcement is scheduled for May 30, 2011.
