Suzuki and Intelligent Energy for fuel cells vehicles
Burgman Fuel Cell: The first scooter and the first vehicle ever to gain European approval that allow the free movement in Europe.
The scooter is a result of the collaboration between Suzuki Motor Corporation and British Intelligent Energy Holdings PLC. An agreement that since 2007 has set as its objective the development of fuel cell cars and motorcycles.
Suzuki and Intelligent Energy have formally announced a joint venture of a company they will each have a 50/50 stake in called SMILE FC System Corporation. Like in their past partnership Intelligent Energy will get access to a well-known and branded vehicle manufacturer and Suzuki will have access to world class and leading edge hydrogen fuel cell technology.
SMILE FC System Corporation plans to put production fuel cell cars and other vehicles on the road. Among the objectives of the joint venture: speed up the process of development of fuel cell vehicle leading to commercialization for mass production.
