Since 2003 Assolombarda and Milan Chamber of Commerce give voice, along with businesses and citizens request, to the need to strengthen and improve the infrastructure and mobility services: the major factors for economic development and competitiveness of our cities, our territories and the whole Country. The Mobility Conference is an opportunity to take stock of what has been achieved in the past decade and what remains to be done. The objectives of this edition are to promote the development of infrastructure and transport services, dissemination of knowledge on issues of crucial importance for the whole Country, the enhancement of products and solutions offered by italian companies. Among the scheduled conferences should be noted: Energy infrastructure and market competition The set of European directives and regulations of the Third Energy Package accelerated the development of competitive energy markets in Europe. This development, to be effective, must have a more integrated infrastructure system than the current one in support of the movement of energy between the European Regions. The conference aims to address the issue of infrastructural facilities for energy flows within the Country, to identify problems and solutions to allow a prospective evaluation of the energy market in Europe. The workshop “La micro cogenerazione con celle a combustibile SOFC e i progetti in corso in Italia” and “L’inaugurazione dell’Isola Cogenerativa presso il nuovo magazzino comunale di Roncegno Terme” to take place January 25th is an initiative part of the Crisalide Project. The project arises from the desire to experience, through an emerging technology, the ability to integrate different systems of cogeneration into the electricity grid. This initiative was implemented through a demonstrative action, which consists of a micro-cogeneration plant of 6 kW thermal power and 3 kW electrical power. The micro-cogeneration plant electricity and heat production will be used for municipal warehouse and in perspective also for the new barracks of the firemen. In the case of low demand, electricity will be exchanged with the network through an inverter certificate. It will also be testing the automation system, remote monitoring and control, allowing the coordinated management of distributed generation plants, which reach so the impact and benefits of a virtual power plant. The Trans-European Energy Networks 2012 call for proposals is open with the deadline for submission 29/02/2012. The indicative EU budget allocation available for this programme is EUR 21,129.600 million.
Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) supports EU energy efficiency and renewable energy policies, with a view to reaching the EU 2020 targets. In 2012, there will be € 67 million available for funding.
The 4th edition of the “European Fuel Cell Technology & Applications Piero Lunghi Conference” aims to cement the collaboration between Academia, Research Institutions, industry and policymakers, showing the scientific progress and the most modern applications of fuel cell-based technologies, to prove that the need of change is a resource to cultivate. The ”Giornata Italiana su Celle a Combustibile e Idrogeno” organized by CNR, ENEA and CSR aims to raise the Italian actors working in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen. This day is aimed to present both the results of research carried out under the Programme Agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development, and the main Italian industrial player ongoing activities. The event also aims to give participants an opportunity to meet in order to prepare for future challenges of research in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen, which can contribute to make the national productive system more innovative and competitive. The program (under development) identifies ENEA, RSE and CNR and some of the main Italian actors active in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen (ENEL, EDISON, SOFCPower, Environment Park). The date was chosen to create a connection with the event days of the “European Fuel Cell Conference & Exhibition“, which will be held on December 14 to 16 in Rome – Centro Congressi Roma Eventi – Fontana di Trevi. On 24 November 2011, the Department of Chemistry and Materials of the Polytechnic of Milan will host the final event of the project: Advanced Materials for Gas Diffusion Electrodes (GDE) in Polymer Electrolytes Membranes Fuel Cells (PEMFCs): super hydrophobic textiles and nanocarbon-based inks. The research project has addressed one component of the single fuel cell: the Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL). An innovative GDEs has been assembled into a fuel cell lab prototype, using commercial polymeric membranes and bipolar plates. The performances have been tested in terms of polarization and power densities curves, with encouraging final results. Download the program. More information here
